Throughout my time at college i have been struggling to find a specific area in the creative industry that i was comfortable in and could concentrate on and focus towards ending up with a job in such an area. After this terms project i feel that i would like to learn more about and go into the world of Post Production, this is still quite a wide gage of skills but i know now that i enjoy working towards post production briefs and could see myself working as a professional in this area. I see myself as more of a Technical person than creative, i always have been very hands on which is why i think this career path suits me. in order to be a successful candidate in the post production industry i am going to need to brush up on some skills and learn allot of new ones so i can try and be ahead of the competition because there is so much of it out there.
One of my main flaws is time management, once i get organized and started i am very focused on getting the job done but if i have a few different projects/ jobs to do at the same time i always end up putting them of till the last minuet. i don't have much free time at the moment due to balancing work commitments with college work but If i have a clearly set out schedule giving me separate deadlines throughout the overall time constraint it will help me organize myself better.
Searching for different jobs i would like to apply for i came across this advert on the Framestore website for a runner. I would like to join a large company like Framestore with lots of opportunities for progression up the career ladder.

This runner position concentrates on the post-production side of the industry and offers great opportunities to work along side professionals in the industry and learn from them.
In order to be successful in an application to this position or any like it i would need to put together a showreel with all my best works showcasing my abilities. I think i still have allot of work to do and skills to learn before i could approach a job like this because there is so much competition out there i need to make sure i am at the forefront and my skills and the best they can be. I still have allot to learn about the industry some skills i can learn myself using the internet and online tutorials it is this part of my skills i need to spend as much time as possible working on and improving so when i enter the industry i am up to date and have a broad knowledge base to work from.

Tutorial descisions
I have decided to wright my tutorial on the principles of creating and breaking glass in maya. the tutorial will focus on the Blastcode plugin because there isnt many tutorial out there that show you how to use this software yet i feel it is one of the better destruction packages i have tried. I first used the plugin for my post production brief after trying about 3 different pieces of software which didnt produce the results i was looking for.
Researching existing tutorials
Here are some tutoial that i have either used in my past projects or have found they are composed well and coherient. I will use these as background research for my Tutorial.
Green screen Keylight in aftereffects tutorial. found this very informative and usefull for my post production project.
Blastcode tutorial very usefull for creating realistivc explosions in maya (used in my Post production brief)
Begginner tutorial about maya very basic but set out well and easy to follow includes a synopsis.
Begginner modeling tutorial of creating a glass
This one of the tutorials i looked at how to create and break glass objects in maya i like the technique used the only drawback is that the software plugin used is licenced and the free version dosnt include all the features needed to create a good piece of destruction.
